See what each of the four windows deducts if you pay the year in one go.

Prepayment means paying the tax for the remaining period up front and taking a deduction for that period. Pay earlier and the remaining period is longer, so the deduction is larger.

The four filing windows

The windows are set by Article 128(3) of the Local Tax Act. Miss the window and that option is gone for the year.

자동차세는 1대당 연세액을 2분의 1의 금액으로 분할한 세액(비영업용 승용자동차의 경우에는 제127조제1항제2호에 따라 산출한 각 기분세액)을 다음 각 기간 내에 그 납기가 있는 달의 1일 현재의 자동차 소유자로부터 자동차 소재지를 관할하는 지방자치단체에서 징수한다. 제1기분 1월부터 6월까지 6월 16일부터 6월 30일까지, 제2기분 7월부터 12월까지 12월 16일부터 12월 31일까지
